Standard Chartered
Leaders go first.
People Leaders, Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan, 2026

The challenge
The leadership team invested in its people and trusted its instincts, but had no comparable data for intrapersonal skills behind them. Training was cascaded down rather than modelled from the top, and frameworks built elsewhere did not fit how leaders here work.
What we did
- Leaders from across units took the assessment first, privately and online.
- Results were scored across Purpose, People and Performance against defined bands.
- Each leader reflected on their own results before a facilitated group session.

What we found
- People was the layer where leaders differed most.
- Leaders were consistently confident and direct across nearly every area measured.
- Purpose, People and Performance gave leaders across departments one shared language, which they linked to the bank's own skills language.
Sessions like Thrive by Design are really important to rejuvenate, refresh, bring back to the table what we think about.
Erum Khaja, Head of CABM

What leaders did next
- Each leader set individual and team commitments for the next week and the next 30 days.
- Leaders concluded that local norms are needed, and their own data is now the basis for any wider rollout.
What this means for you
If your leaders are asking their teams to change, start with the leaders.
